The Sydney Opera House located on the shores of the harbour is a world famous architechtural landmark. In 1770 A.D. the English explorer James Cook dropped anchor in Botany Bay, south of what is today known as the city of Sydney. The dinosaur footprints at Gantheaume Point in Broome, has a distinctly Asian feel, partly because of its history as a pearling centre and partly because Perth, the state capital, is twice as far away as Indonesia.
